An issue that pretty much everyone will face with certain family members at some point is dealing with those who have different political views. A lot of people become pretty obstinate when they are talking about the politics they believe in, and things can become heated very easily. It is a topic where many are unwilling to admit the times they got things wrong, especially when they are speaking to somebody who doesn’t believe the same stuff that they do. 

It almost goes without saying that this can have some pretty serious ramifications for family relationships. People have been known to go no-contact over such things, and even when they simply disagree the effects can be explosive. Few enjoy having the fundamental aspects of their worldview challenged, not least when it comes from somebody they love. It means that people can fall out over the dumbest of subjects if they are somehow made political.
